OBAN TRIP




OBAN TRIP TICKETS - TUESDAY

Our first weekend trip pf the year - and an unmissable one at that! Tickets go
on sale on TUESDAY 22nd SEPTEMBER between 3pm and 5pm in GUU on the ground
floor. Price is £40

We are going to go to Oban on 3rd - 4th October. The buses will leave
University Main Gates at 9am on the Saturday and we will return at around 6pm
Sunday.

Oban is a beautifully, quaint harbour town and the main port for ferries to the
islands of the Inner Hebrides, making it a busy, bustling place to be. The
town itself has many great attractions - a chocolate factory, distillery,
McCaig's tower which gives breathtaking views over to the Isle of Mull and a
sea life centre.

However - our trip is not just to Oban - on the way to Oban we will stop and
visit the beautiful town of Inveraray, with its majestic castle, on the shores
of Loch Fyne. On top of this we are offering you the chance to get on a ferry
and visit the Isle of Mull, one of the most picturesque islands in Scotland!!!

On top of this, we'll have a great party on the Saturday night and all your
meals are included.

EDINBURGH TRIP



EDINBURGH TICKETS - MONDAY!!!

Tickets for our trip to Scotland's stunning capital city will go on sale THIS
MONDAY - 21st SEPTEMBER between 3pm and 5pm in GUU on the ground floor. Price
is £7.

The trip will take place on SATURDAY 26th SEPTEMBER. We will leave from
University Main Gates at 9am, and will stay in Edinburgh until 6pm giving you
plenty of time to explore.

Edinburgh is without a doubt the most beautiful city in Scotland, full of
history, culture and breathtaking monuments. Feel history come to life in the
spectacular Edinburgh Castle, wander through the capital's mysterious, winding,
medieval streets,seeped with history and down the Royal Mile to Holyrood Palace
and the Scottish Parliament. Sample Scotland's national drink, and explore the
history and brewing of it in the Whisky Experience. Climb the steps to the top
of the Scott Mounement of Calton Hill for breathtaking views. Add to this an
abundace of museums, shops and a fantastic atmosphere and you'll see why this
is a firm favourite with visitors and locals alike.

CULTURAL CARNIVAL 18:00pm, 16th Sep, Glasgow University






























This fantastic FREE event will be taking place on WEDNESDAY 16th SEPTEMBER from
18:00 - 21:00 in the University Quadrangles.

It is going to be an amazing night, a truly multi-cultural experience with
music, food and dance from around the world, including performances from:

PIXIE STIX (Celtic folk group)
THE KINGS OF MACUMBA (fantastic Samba band)
THE FLYING JALAPENOS (extraordinary break-dance crew)
RED BULL MOBILE DJ BOOTH

The Red Bull Wings Girls will be on hand to keep you supplied with samples of
Red Bull, whilst there will be a huge selection of food from all over the world
to taste.

FIESTA SALSA LATINO 7pm 13th Sep GUU Dinning Room




























Come along to the FREE event and salsa the night away to some great Latino beats
before showing the freshers how to party in the GUU's TRAFFIC LIGHT PARTY on
SUNDAY 13th SEPTEMBER

Pre-party salsa with start at 19:00 in the GUU Dining Room, before we move on to
The Hive for the Traffic Light Party at 22:00. Choose your colour to show
whether you're playing the field (green), spoken for (red) or just wanting to
keep everyone guessing (amber)

It's sure to be a great way to start the year and a good chance to meet some of
our new students.
